Angela’s Story
“The Terry who came back … was a different person to the Terry who left.”
“Terry was a Communications Electronics Technician with the 462 Squadron when he was deployed to Iraq in 2016. He was later evacuated with a life-changing injury.
His injury prevented him from doing a lot of things he’d normally be able to do at home. He couldn’t move his neck. He couldn’t even hug the kids. He was also experiencing triggering episodes and flashes from his service in Middle East. I could see he was in torment.
In July 2017, he took his own life.
It was devastating. I struggled a lot. I was worried and terribly stressed about the financial side too. We had to sell the house.
That’s when Legacy stepped in. I can’t rave enough about the lengths Legacy has gone to support our family. They have helped shoulder some of the burden around housing, transport and counselling.
Because of Legacy, I could be there for my kids when they needed me most.”
